About Us...

Who we are...

London Drum Company was set up in 2004 by Simon Jayes. 

 

Simon had previously worked for Pearl drums for around five years prior to fulfilling his desire to set up his own company. He has gone on to work as a touring drum tech for Chad Smith (Red Hot Chili Peppers, Stadium Arcadium tour 2006), Bill Reiflin (REM, Accelerate tour 2008), John Blackwell (Prince, Welcome to America tour 2011), Philip Selway (Radiohead, 2012 - now) and Zak Starkey (The Who, 2014 - 2015) as well as many other tours with UK artists such as Placebo, Biffy Clyro, Paul Weller, Primal Scream, Kasabian, Feeder and Skunk Anansie.

Our premises is based in Croydon, South London. We have warehousing in both Croydon and central London. Our Croydon location benefits from many transport links and is easily accessable by road or public transport

What we do...

Our 'Pro Shop' services many of the UK's highest profile professional drummers, percussionists and international touring bands and artists. We can esnure you benefit from great stock availability and great prices. We are able to ship next day to most parts of the UK and Europe. 

Many of our clients choose to store their equipment with us in our dedicated, secure storage facilities and rely upon us to get their gear delivered and set wherever and whenever they need it. Storage options are available for everyone.

LDC works closely with most leading manufacturers storing, maintaining and preparing their promotional stock for hundreds of different jobs each year.

Our Workshop offers many service and repair options. We can collect your drum and deliver back. Email or call for a specific quote.

Our regular clients include drummers such as Ralph Salmins, Ian Thomas, Geoff Dugmore, Neal Wilkinson, Karl Brazil and Pete Lewinson, Bands such as Placebo, Foo Fighters, Biffy Clyro and Kasabian. We also look after the needs of players like Chad Smith, Steve Smith, Adam Nussbaum, and Omar Hakim when they're in the UK.

Find us online

By Car - from M25

  • Leave M25 at Junction 7
  • Follow M23 till it becomes A23
  • Stay on A23
  • At Purley (by Tesco superstore) go straight on A235 (Brighton Road)
  • Stay on A235 through South Croydon
  • Straight through all lights along South End
  • Continue onto High Street
  • Immediately after passing under the flyover turn right, up Fell Road
  • At top of Fell road filter right so as to be able to enter roundabout
  • At roundabout go straight over onto Barclay Road (becomes Fairfield Road)
  • At 3rd set of lights turn left down Addiscombe Grove
  • Straight over roundabout onto Cherry Orchard Road
  • At the end of Cherry Orchard Road you'll see LDC
  • Turn right, then left (1st exit) at roundabout into Morland Avenue for free parking.

 

By Car - from London

  • From Elephant And Castle follow signs for A23 South - Brixton
  • Continue on A23 through Brixton until you reach Streatham
  • Continue on A23 through Norbury until you see signs for A235 Croydon
  • Stay on A235 (London Road) - you'll see signs for Mayday Hospital (on your left)
  • You'll begin to see signs directing you to Addiscombe
  • There will be a left turn directed as Addiscombe (A213)
  • Continue to follow signs for Addiscombe (A222)
  • You will be lead to the start of Lower Addiscombe Road (A222)
  • Continue through a cross roads with a church on your right and a Kwik Fit garage on your left
  • Over the small railway bridge and LDC is just before the mini roundabout on your left

 

By Rail

Mainline services from the following stations direct to East Croydon station.

  • London Bridge (20 min)
  • London Victoria (15 min)
  • Clapham Junction (10min)

Turn left out of the station, walk past the taxi rank and post office. Turn left into Cherry Orchard Road. Walk to the end of this road (5 min) you will see LDC in front of you.

 

By Tram

Tramlink services from Beckenham and from Wimbledon will take you to East Croydon Station.

At East Croydon Station walk past the taxi rank and post office (both on your left hand side). Turn left into Cherry Orchard Road. Walk to the end of this road (5 min) you will see LDC in front of you.
